Godzilla vs American version ‘Zilla’ (Hollywood’s 1998 version)
Godzilla’s official makers showed him bringing a quick end to the Hollywood knockoff.
In 2014’s Godzilla: Final Wars: Following the arrival of alien visitors, Earth is being attacked by giant monsters. Eventually, the aliens take control of Earth’s defenders—and the only hope left is to free Godzilla from his underground prison.
Godzilla fights lots of monsters in this film—including Toho’s retread of the Hollywood approach to Godzilla from 1998’s Godzilla. Watch below…
One of my favorite Godzilla movies, Godzilla: Final Wars is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, written by Isao Kiriyama and Wataru Mimura, and produced by Shogo Tomiyama. An international co-production between Japan, Australia, the United States, and China, the film was produced by Toho Studios, CP International, Zazou Productions, and Napalm Films.
The film stars Masahiro Matsuoka, Rei Kikukawa, Don Frye, Maki Mizuno, Kazuki Kitamura, Kane Kosugi, Kumi Mizuno, Kenji Sahara, Masami Nagasawa, Chihiro Otsuka, Shigeru Izumiya, Masakatsu Funaki, Masato Ibu, Jun Kunimura, and Akira Takarada.
