The Addams Family was created in 1938 by cartoonist Charles Addams, who starred the ghoulish family in a series of single-panel cartoons, many of which were published in The New Yorker over a 50-year period. The family has since appeared in lots of other media, including a TV show, films, video games, and more.

Oh—and a stage musical. The Addams Family is set when Wednesday Addams has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met.
