The cast list featured a new set of actors in these roles, including Sam McMurray as Herman Munster, Ann Magnuson as Lily Munster, Bug Hall as Eddie Munster, Sandy Baron as Grandpa, and Elaine Hendrix as Marilyn.
About The Munsters
In the pantheon of sitcom families, there are few (if any) as memorable as The Munsters. With 70 episodes airing on the CBS network across two seasons (1964-1966), the original show featured Herman and Lily Munster (portrayed by Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo), Grandpa (Al Lewis), Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick), and Marilyn Munster (first by Beverley Owen, then Pat Priest).
Borrowing elements from Universal Monsters, the original show included versions of Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula, with members of the extended family referencing the Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Despite airing only two seasons, the show has continued to delight viewers through reruns and a series of reunions, revisits, and reboots—and even more references to the Universal Monsters.
