Michael Keaton on BEETLEJUICE: “I don’t get it. Explain what you’re trying to do.”
The original 1988 classic horror-comedy movie Beetlejuice told the story of a ghostly husband and wife trying to stop their home from being completely remodeled by its new residents, and calling on the titular bio-exorcist. In this clip from an interview about his career, Beetlejuice star Michael Keaton talked about working with director Tim Burton on the classic film and how he created the character’s distinctive look.
One of the most loved horror comedy movies of all time, Beetlejuice also starred Winona Ryder, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Catherine O’Hara, and Glenn Shadix, among others.
During Warner Bros. presentation at the CinemaCon 2023 panel, the studio claimed that Beetlejuice 2 is officially in the works. Beetlejuice has also gone on to inspire a cartoon TV show, video games, and a popular stage musical. There is even a new cookbook!
