Justice League vs Solomon Grundy at the Christmas party
Zombie Solomon Grundy has crashed the Christmas party!
Justice League Action was a fast-paced—sometimes hilarious—series featuring the Justice League, including members Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and way more, as they fight big bad villains and other threats to save the Earth.
In their holiday special, “Party Animal” (episode #46), Green Arrow hosts the Justice League’s Christmas party—and tries to create a bromance with Batman—but finds his plans derailed when Plastic Man brings a tranquilized Solomon Grundy to the event. (Got to be honest here—it’s a very funny episode, but when they get to the end, it always makes me cry.)
These three YouTube video clips shows you pretty much the whole episode…

Justice League Action was a pulse-pounding look at the Justice League. As such, it was chock full of JL members, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Mister Terrific, Zatanna, Firestorm, Plastic Man, Booster Gold, Vixen, Stargirl, Big Barda, Mister Miracle, Supergirl, Red Tornado, Shazam, Blue Beetle, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Swamp Thing, Green Lantern, Doctor Fate, Atom, John Constantine, Cyborg, and Flash.
The show also featured some fun guest stars, including Space Cabbie, Jonah Hex, Etrigan the Demon, Krypto the Superdog, and Streaky the Supercat.
(Please note that the Justice League membership lineup has changed over the years. I apologize if some that I listed as members are now just “guest stars.”)
Solomon Grundy is a DC Comics zombie who’s often a villain, sometimes an antihero, who first appeared in the 1944 comic book All-American Comics #61. Originally a murder victim brought back to life as a zombie, over the decades there have been other explanations for him in the comics. His name comes from the old nursery rhyme “Solomon Grundy.”
