Christopher Golden Q&A: “The character I hate the most, weirdly, is not one of the villains...”

Christopher Golden is an author of horror, fantasy, and suspense fiction. He was interviewed for the YouTube channel kept by Annie’s Book Stop, a local independent bookstore in Worcester, Massachusetts. In the interview below, Golden talks about his favorite character, shares his biggest challenge, explains his favorite research story, and reveals the inspiration for his Ben Walker series novel Red Hands.

Christopher Golden Interview

Golden is a Bram Stoker Award-winner for his novel Ararat. His fiction also includes All Hallows, the Ben Walker series, Road of Bones, Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth, the Shadow Saga series, and The House of Last Resort, as well as some of the official Hellboy novels, and the Alien novel River of Pain.

Golden has also edited numerous horror and dark fantasy fiction collections such as the vampire story anthology Seize the Night, the zombie anthology The New Dead, and the urban terror anthology Dark Cities.

Golden and Hellboy-creator Mike Mignola co-created the comic book universe called The Outerverse, featuring such characters as Baltimore, Joe Golem: Occult Detective, and Lady Baltimore.

Golden is also the founder of the Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival.
