Celebrating Women’s History Month 2025 with Monster Complex female authors!
N.K. Jemisin, Kiran Manral, Rebecca Roanhorse, Seanan McGuire, Silvia Moreno-Garcia
“It’s very important to me that people get to see themselves in stories,” Seanan McGuire says. “When someone tells me they’ve never seen themselves, I have a new goal.”
Every March, Women’s History Month spotlights how women have impacted history as well as the modern world. To join in Women’s History Month, Monster Complex wants to share several of the women authors we’ve talked about here on the site. Each of these authors write the kind of fiction we love—including horror, urban fantasy, sci-fi, and other related genres.
Below, click on one of the names to find out more about these ladies—plus links to find out more about them online.
“If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.”
—Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013), prime minister of the United Kingdom
